Linking a WhatsApp number with a QR code takes a minute. There is no Meta app to make, no business verification and no template to have approved. That ease is the whole appeal, and it is also the trap.
The number is a person's
To WhatsApp, a linked number is a phone with a browser attached. It is judged the way a person's number is: by who it writes to, how often and whether they answer. A number that suddenly sends the same text to hundreds of strangers looks like what it is, and WhatsApp restricts it.
What we do about it
- Every message waits its turn, 10 to 20 seconds after the one before, the pace of somebody typing.
- The API sends text only: nothing that reads as a campaign.
- Every message received and sent is an event, so you can see what an AI agent wrote, and when.
When to use the other WhatsApp
If you write first to many people, or need a verified business profile and message templates, use WhatsApp through the inbox instead: Meta's Cloud API or Twilio, with the platform's own rules and billing. It takes longer to set up because it is meant for exactly that.
A linked number is for conversations: customers who wrote first, colleagues, people who know you. Kept to that, it is judged as what it is — a person's number, answering.
Questions people ask
Can I make the pace faster?
No. The 10 to 20 seconds between messages is applied to every linked number, because it is what keeps the number looking like the person it belongs to.
Can I use both WhatsApps at once?
Yes, on different numbers: a linked number for conversations, and a Cloud API or Twilio number in the inbox for what you send first.
